Whilst working as lead designer at Codegent, an award winning agency based in the heart of silicon roundabout, I headed up the design team, responsible for the rebrand of Naturally Selina Scott – a boutique online store selling mohair socks and other luxury products. Selina Scott, a well known public figure who until recently was most well known as a journalist and TV broadcaster, is now making a name for herself as a purveyor of extremely soft, well made socks on her farm in Wetherby, Yorkshire, that houses a small number of angora goats.
Our task was to turn a small company with a niche market into a globally recognised brand with a much larger, and particularly younger, potential market. One of our key objectives was to appeal to young, affluent city dwellers that dream of weekends in the countryside in soft but durable walking socks, that would still look at home whilst walking around the city streets. In order to achieve this we developed a clean, sophisticated brand and UI that could easily be manipulated by the content.
